Loss of EUR43.1 million

European e-cruiting network StepStone ASA, London, posted a wider third-quarter net loss of EUR43.1 million, (0.18) EPS, for the period ended Sept. 30, nearly seven times steeper than the year-ago net loss of EUR6.1 million, or (0.06) EPS. To stem concerns, StepStone chief executive Giles Clarke told analysts he remains confident that the company will be cash positive by 2002. Quarterly sales were strong, surging to EUR17.05 million from EUR3.67 million in the prior-year period.
