STARoundtable announces fall educational academies schedule

One-of-a-Kind Leadership Workshops Open to Recruiting and Staffing Professionals

The Strategic Talent Acquisition Roundtable (STARoundtable) today announced its 2007 Fall schedule of Recruiting and Leadership Academies. Open to organizational recruiting and staffing leaders and individual professionals, eight new sessions in two key tracks ñ Corporate Recruiting and Hospitality Recruiting ñ are being offered in major markets across the country starting in September.

The highly specialized, one-day intensive workshops are designed to provide participants with the leadership skills and mindset they need to more effectively, successfully and strategically manage their companyís overall staffing and recruiting functions. The program has been approved for 4.75 recertification credit hours towards PHR, SPHR, and GPHR certifications through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).

Each Leadership Academy workshop is led by recruiting and staffing experts Jeremy Eskenazi, Diana Meisenhelter or John Vlastelica, who combined bring nearly 50 years of experience in helping companies assess and enhance their talent management systems and processes. According to Eskenazi, no other HR industry organization or association offers this kind of leadership-focused educational resource for recruiters or staffing professionals.

ìThere is a huge void in our industry today for helping corporate recruiters and staffing professionals become true leaders,î says Eskenazi, who also serves as managing principal of Riviera Advisors, a leading management consultancy focused on talent management issues. ìThe STARoundtable Leadership Academy seeks to move recruiters from ëdoersí to leaders. This important shift ultimately benefits the professional for their own career growth, while also bringing more value to the companies they work for.î

During each workshop, designed in modules, participants learn and discuss such issues as how to bring more value to their day-to-day recruiting function; how to navigate complex company politics to their benefit; and how to effectively show the value of their function to their superiors and others within their company.

Each workshop is specifically designed to host between only 15 to 20 participants.

This intimate setting fosters a richer dialog of the concepts, principles and issues discussed, and creates a strong team environment. In addition, all Academies are typically held on a university campus, further fueling the academic and collegial environment.

Following each workshop, ìalumniî participants receive a hardbound printed workbook and resource guide. They also have access to numerous proprietary resource materials such as case studies, white papers and metrics tools. Alumni can download these materials and share best practice stories with their Academy team members through a password protected section of the STARoundtableís website.

STARoundtable originally launched the Recruiting and Staffing Leadership Academy this Spring with two Academies in Los Angeles, and Dallas. HR professionals from such prominent companies as Countrywide Financial, U.S. Cellular, Nike, The Walt Disney Co. and LaQuinta Inns & Suites participated in the inaugural Spring 2007 workshops.

The tuition for participation, which includes breakfast and lunch, is $1,295 per person. Space at each Fall Academy is limited and discounts may be available for participants.
