Wednesday night, 10th November in Manchester, at the annual prestigious People Management CIPD Awards dinner, St Mungo’s the London based homeless charity was announced 2010 runner-up in the “Excellence Through Technology” category. Andrew Hyland, Head of Recruitment at St Mungo’s has spearheaded the strategy and Mark Kieve, CEO of Amris has supported St Mungo’s to fulfil their ambitious programme of change. A strategy which in the last financial year saw a reduction in recruitment spend through efficiencies from £230,000 to £70,000.

In a year of a record number of entries, the finalists for Excellence through Technology were:

  • St Mungo's (runner-up)

  • London Underground

  • DHL Supply Chain (award winner)

  • Royal Free NHS Trust Hampstead

Mark Kieve, CEO of Amris said “I am extremely proud of the team here at Amris and the partnership developed with the team at St Mungo’s. We greatly value every one of our clients, but there is something very special to be said when we see St Mungo’s as a charity reduce their recruitment spend by enough to fund a mental health service for homeless people for a whole year. That’s when we feel real job satisfaction. We are proud to have been selected as the partner for St Mungo’s and of course, toast their success. To achieve runner up status over major global corporates is testament to a phenomenal HR team”.
