Skyís the Limit for jobseekers

First ever social networking forum to aid recovery from record high youth unemployment

First ever social networking forum to aid recovery from record high youth unemployment

With the announcement of a record 19.8% youth unemployment, the UKís first ever social networking community designed specifically for jobseekers has been launched today.

A4e, the job seeker services provider, is revolutionising the way we train and find work with the Facebook like social networking site, which brings together jobseekers and A4e staff into one interactive resource.

Working with the Jobcentre, the MyA4e Community will host live listings of available jobs, personal development plans, events and everything the discerning jobseeker needs to profile and find the right position for them.

Stephen Thompson, one of the first jobseekers registered on the site has already found it an invaluable tool, commenting: ìIt can only be a positive thing to be able to access all of t this information in one place on the internet.î

The site, MyA4e Community, has been specifically designed for Flexible New Deal (FND) employees, with each having their own unique personal profile which converts into a copy of their CV and provides access to forums, messaging, available jobs plus news and events in their local area.

Emma Harrison, chairman and founder of A4e, commented: The past two years have been a particularly difficult time for jobseekers.

We wanted to breathe new life into the way people find and prepare for work and after watching the success of social networking sites such as Facebook, we felt that an online community combined with our expertise for nurturing and guiding people through the recruitment process, was the answer. This was how Mya4e Community was created.

Emma continues: We are trying to build the biggest online community of people that want to improve their lives and those of others - all by sharing our knowledge and by supporting each other. It not only gives our customers access to all the information they may ever need about
getting and preparing for a job, but it also provides peer-to-peer support for those who need a morale boost.
