Global online learning provider, SkillSoft, has built the first of 30 Russian-localised business skills courses in partnership with Noviy Disk, the largest distributor of educational software across the Russian-speaking territories.
Noviy Diskís dedicated SkillSoft localisation team has made a number of courses available immediately. By the end of 2005, the portfolio will contain 30 Russian-localised business skills courses.
Both local and global organisations are already accessing courses in call centre communications; handling conflict, and planning and conducting effective business meetings. Later releases will cover project management, customer service, performance management, finance, management and supervisory skills.
Russian businesses are rapidly moving towards the adoption of e-learning for employee development and training, says Boris Gershuni, CEO of Noviy Disk. The availability of courses translated into Russian and adapted to our countryís business culture will no doubt increase the demand.
Kevin Young, vice president of SkillSoft Corporation and managing director of SkillSoft in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, adds:
SkillSoftís localisation model relies on trusted partners such as Noviy Disk who bring a combination of development expertise, local business knowledge and strong language skills. With more than 200 million Russian-speaking individuals we see significant opportunity in this market for e-learning.
