Shortlist of Success

Aston Taylor has been shortlisted for three awards in the Hertfordshire Recruitment Awards 2007. The St Albans-based Recruitment-to-Recruitment company is in line to win in three categories: Company of the Year, Consultant of the Year and the Rising Star Award. The winners will be announced at a glamorous ceremony on 29 June.

The shortlist for the prestigious title of Company of the Year has been drawn up from dozens of recruitment companies across the county. Aston Taylorís own Annika Eade, a Senior Consultant, is in contention for the Consultant of the Year award. Craig Pordes is up for the Rising Star award, in recognition of his progression from being a Trainee Recruiter to a Managing Consultant in just over a year.

Vic Chuntz, the companyís CEO, expressed his pleasure with the news. ìObviously weíre delighted. Itís a great reflection on all the hard work we put in.î He added that he was delighted for Eade and Pordes and felt they deserved to win their respective awards too and that the whole company was looking forward to the awards ceremony.

Eade is the companyís most successful biller, but could hardly believe she was on the shortlist. ìIím amazed to be honest. I certainly didnít expect this to happen to me. Iíve been with Aston Taylor for just over a year, and would never have been able to achieve this without the support Iíve received from all my colleagues and peers.î Annika also holds the record for the highest fee brought in by one deal.

Meanwhile, Pordes is in line to win the Rising Star award, designed for people new to the industry who have achieved a lot in a short space of time. Joining Aston Taylor as a Trainee Consultant only thirteen months ago, the 23-year-old has progressed through the companyís training scheme, proved to be successful, and is now in charge of a team of four people. ìThis is great news,î he said. ìIíve had to work very hard to get where I am so soon, so itís exciting to be on the shortlist.î
