Independent research company pH Group Ltd has released evidence demonstrating that organisations using carefully developed assessment methods have increased levels of productivity.
The use of candidate profiling and assessment has increased dramatically in recent years, with more and more companies looking to achieve the long-term benefits of the best person to job match. Data collected by international business-to-business analytics company, the pH Group, makes a direct link between companies that have invested in SHLís assessment solutions and their productivity.
SHL has substantial evidence showing that organisations using scientifically based assessment and recruitment tools are more likely to succeed in recruiting, retaining and developing the correct person for individual roles. The cost of failure resulting from a poor hire or promotion is often crippling. This correlation between organisations that use SHL and higher productivity appears to provide empirical evidence to support a view widely held by the HR Industry ñ the more an organisation appropriately invests in its people the more it will get out of them.
The graph above demonstrates that SHL has a higher penetration within organisations that record a higher than average (100%) productivity.
The pH Group holds data for over three million organisations and identified that companies with productivity levels 50% higher than the average were three times more likely to use SHLís assessment tools than companies with a productivity of less than 25% of the average.
Kevin Kerrigan, Managing Director of SHL, UK, said: ìThis research supports what we have always known at SHL; productive firms are those that invest in objective, scientifically based assessment of staff and potential hires to ensure that they secure, develop and retain the best talent. Not only does this demonstrate that SHLís assessment tools are recognised by an increasing number of companies to improve their recruitment process and reduce costs in terms of financial and workplace resources, but it also suggests that there is a positive relationship between an organisationís productivity and whether or not it uses psychometric assessment tools.î
SHLís products are used by companies across the globe to support them in the selection, recruitment, promotion, development and retention of talented people at all levels and across all sectors. The company works with all ten of the organisations listed recently by Forbes as the worldís Top 10 most productive organisations - General Electric, Bank of America, American International Group, HSBC Group, ExxonMobil, Royal Dutch/Shell Group, BP, JPMorgan Chase and UBS.
SHL offers its clients a wide range of assessment tools and consultancy services to ensure the recruitment of the best people. Measuring their staff potential and assuring that the right people fit in the right positions puts SHL clients one step ahead: their employeesí performance is maximized and their productivity lifted.
