A new recruitment service to help tackle the shortage of scientific talent has been launched by Search Consultancy, the UKís fastest-growing total recruitment solutions agency.
Audrey McCulloch, who has joined Search as associate director from a leading rival firm, will head up the new division which will be based initially in Crawley and Manchester.
The service will recruit for all areas of science ñ including clinical, pharmaceutical, chemical, environmental and petrochemical ñ which are being affected by a lack of experienced science professionals in the UK.
Audrey has 19 yearsí experience in recruitment, eight in science recruitment, and set up one of the UKís largest scientific recruitment agencies.
She said: ìThere is a huge demand for suitably qualified science graduates in a wide array of positions but there is not enough talent to fill the vacancies. We plan to work with the top pharmaceutical organisations to create recruitment solutions that will enable us to track candidates not only from the UK but from overseas.
ìThis means wages are high and opportunities are many and varied for anyone with a degree in life sciences, so there has never been a better time to start a career in the field of science.
ìMy aim is to create specialist scientific services in three or four offices throughout the UK and build it up as we win more clients. I would expect to place a considerable number of people in our first year.î
