Mayís Bank of Scotland Labour Market Report signalled a buoyant Scottish jobs market, though the pace of expansion has eased slightly over the past two months.

Employee appointments continue to rise but there are fewer candidates to fill job vacancies, which has contributed to an increase in wages and salaries.

The Bank of Scotland Labour Market Barometer recorded a reading of 60.4, down from 62.5 in the previous month, but still indicative of a strong rate of growth and above the equivalent barometer for the wider UK economy.

Staff demand grew across all categories of employee in May with IT & Computing the strongest sector.
