The IT jobs market in Bangkok has been undergoing a quiet revolution recently. IT professionals now look on specialist job boards when searching for their next job.

Up until a year ago, if you asked an IT professional exactly where he looked for work and he would likely say JobsDB or Job Top Gun. Likewise recruiters had limited choice where to place their job adverts.
But now, with a market share of 50% they are likely to say, ìLook for IT jobs at www.thaiitjobs.comî.

Under the leadership team of MD, Myles Clark and CTO, Jirayu Cheevagarn, Thai IT Jobs became a member of the JobServe Group of companies in 2007 and became the spear head of JobServeís quiet move into Asia.

Commenting Myles Clark saidî We saw we needed the backing of a major international job board if we were to expand into other Asian countries and we selected JobServe as our partner as it was the first job board and the number one IT job board in the UKî.

Jirayu Cheevagarn, Thai IT Jobs Chief Technical Officer added, îJobServeís technical leadership with its powerful behavioural search engine meant we were linking up with the best technology in the field. We can use this technical leadership in advancing into China and India which are our next targetsî.

JobServeís Global Online Sales & Business Development Manager, Wendy Cowell said, ìour major customers have global operations and they like us to be able to service them where ever they operate. We had operations in UK, North America and Australia but nothing in Asia. Thatís why we welcomed Myles and his team into our Group.î

ì In addition, many companies are setting up IT development teams in Thailand to take advantage of employing the highly skilled and hardworking Thais who cost a fraction of their Western counterparts but are just as productive. So UK businesses wishing to set up operations in Thailand and to find IT staff to man these operations can now come to our groupî Cowell added.

JobServe recently took a leaf out of its own book and relocated its data processing and quality control departments to Thailand saving hundreds of thousands of pounds annually and is currently expanding its Thai development team located in Bangkok to handle more of JobServeís IT projects.

ìWith JobServe expanding into India and China we needed a local support and hosting centre and we chose Bangkok due to the Thai Governmentís support of foreign countries wishing to set up there,î Cowell added.
