Sammons Celebrate the RECís National Temporary Workersí Week

.

Week commencing 6th June 2006 was the Recruitment and Employment Confederationís National Temporary Workersí Week, with even Channel 4ís Big Brother getting into the spirit of things, acting as a temping agency for the housemates!

There are about 1.3 million temps out on assignment every week according to REC research*. The majority enjoy high job satisfaction, choosing temporary work for positive reasons such as: gaining experience; increased flexibility; and better pay. More than half have A levels or equivalent, and nearly a third are graduates.

The Sammons Group celebrated the invaluable contribution made by its loyal, committed and diverse temporary workforce in London by holding a drinks party for them in Balls Brothers in EC3, with special guest Anne Fairweather from the RECís External Relations team.

It was particularly special to see and thank those temporary workers who have been ëcareer tempsí through Sammons for up to twenty years (itís not just the consultants that have great longevity of service!), and have become friends as well as customers.

The Sussex offices of The Sammons Group were also keen to recognise the contribution of their (equally loyal and committed) temporary workforce, and presented them with special National Temporary Workersí Week gift boxes of Thorntons Chocolates.
