Royal Recognition for Recruitment Services

Danny was named in the 2021 New Years’ Honours List for services to International Trade. Danny was one of only 12 business leaders to be honoured for services to International Trade this year.

An appointment to the Order of the British Empire, an MBE (Member of the British Empire) is awarded for outstanding achievement or service to the community in Britain and around the world.

The honours system was established by King George during World War One in 1917 to honour the efforts of civilians and servicemen in non-combat roles. Danny joins an exclusive list of world-leading entrepreneurs and innovators from a variety of backgrounds.

The UK Government’s International Trade Secretary, Liz Truss, comments:

‘All those being honoured have made a terrific contribution to the UK over the past year, whether it be leading the fight against coronavirus or helping champion free and fair trade across the world. We owe them a debt of gratitude for their hard work.

More trade and investment is vital to delivering the jobs and economic growth we need to recover from the pandemic and build back better. Our innovative and go-getting exporters are critical to that, and we will continue to support them as they look to sell more of their wares overseas this coming year and beyond.’

International Business Success

Since its inception in 2003, VHR has provided employment for over 12,000 people across 52 different countries. The business has achieved revenues in excess of £250 Million, of which 73% has been derived from international clients.

The honour is further recognition for Danny, who was named Global Director of the Year by the Institute of Directors (IoD) in 2018 & 2020.

On receiving his MBE, Danny comments:

‘To receive an MBE is a great honour. The honour belongs to all the talented people that work at VHR and who have helped drive the business forward and across the globe over the past 17 years.

VHR’s first clients were based in Switzerland, Mauritius and Singapore. International business has always been at the heart of what we do. We work with our clients to create talent where it is does not exist through training, relocation or a combination of both. The ethical treatment of our workers is at the forefront of what we do and we are proud to have co-founded the Fair Labour Alliance, which promotes ethical working practices across supply chains.

After a challenging year this is a welcome piece of good news and sets us up for 2021 on a very, very positive note. I am beyond honoured and thankful to have been awarded an MBE, and look forward to continuing to drive business growth for our clients and career prospects for our candidates in 2021.’
