Sport England has now announced Jennie Price as its new Chief Executive following an extensive search by executive recruitment firm, Rockpools.
Jennie, who will start in her new role in April this year, is a barrister by training and has extensive senior management experience in the private and public sectors and a track record of working with Government. She joins Sport England from WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme), where she is Chief Executive. She is a member of the Joint DTI/Defra Environmental Innovations Advisory Group and has played a leading role in the Governmentís Sustainable Procurement Task Force.
Sport England Chair, Derek Mapp, said: I am delighted Jennie has accepted the role of CEO of Sport England. She will bring to the organisation both her experience of working in a tough industry and in setting up a government programme from scratch and exceeding the challenging targets she was set.î
David Fielding MBE, four-time Aikido World Champion and ex-Guinness World Record Holder, heads the Rockpoolsí sports practice and led the search for Sport Englandís Chief Executive. Weíre delighted that Sport England now has a strong leadership team to drive the sector into the future,î he said.
