Staff from Signet Secretarial, based in Ashington, are celebrating their success today after the organisation won a National learndirect Achievement Award. The organisation won a regional award in the Summer, and it has now seen off competition from across England and Wales to win the national prize.
Signet Secretarial won the Small/Medium sized Company Award. The award recognises the achievements of small/medium sized companies in supporting staff with learndirect training.
Recruitment company Signet Secretarial works with training provider CEP Associates to enable staff to improve their existing skills and gain recognised qualifications. Through learndirect learning, Signet staff have been able to improve the products and services offered to their clients. For example, new skills enabled Signet to change its procedure for storing client records, to better understand spreadsheets and to upgrade its company information creating a more polished image and better customer service. As a result, Signet has had a very successful year, achieving 92% customer satisfaction, and winning a place on a national recruitment framework, allowing it to compete against larger companies for new business.

Staff from Signet Secretarial will collect the prestigious award at a ‘floating’ Awards ceremony onboard a boat in London, on Friday, 22 October.
