Recruiters required as construction sector rebuilds

Construction sector recruitment specialist Contract Scotland is staffing up in its Stirling office

Construction sector recruitment specialist Contract Scotland is staffing up in its Stirling office.

Director, Emma Watts, says demand is such that they need two new consultants and Contract Scotland is willing to take on new entrants to the recruitment industry as well as those with an existing track record in agency recruitment.

The new posts will bring numbers in Contract Scotland’s office to 23.

Emma Watts said, “We are a specialist niche agency and the things we prize most are knowledge and empathy with our clients’ industries, so previous agency experience isn’t always required. More important is a dedication to fast reaction and understanding the environment in which our candidates will operate. This is how we offer best value to our clients; not just finding people, but finding the very best candidates who are able to slot in and positively contribute from the outset.”

Emma Watts adds that there are real challenges for anyone attempting to recruit recruiters. For starters, those working within the recruitment industry tend to have strong views on what constitutes a “good” interview. This keeps the recruiting company on their toes, according to Emma; “Even very experienced recruiters can get very nervous when they are interviewing for a post on their own behalf. Equally, the recruiters know they are coming under serious professional scrutiny of their techniques.

“Contract Scotland has stuck with its clients and total commitment to the construction sector through some of the most difficult times the industry has known. These new posts reflect optimism that quality and opportunity is returning to some sectors of the market. We seek new talent to ensure we meet this new, more positive challenge. “

Contract Scotland has also recently appointed a new Resourcer to support the Consultants with candidate management.
