As employers ramp up hiring in response to solid corporate profit growth, ExecuNetís Recruiters Confidence Index remains near record highs. In August, the monthly survey of executive recruiters conducted by ExecuNet, the executive job search and recruiting network, reveals the search industry is bullish about the executive employment marketís growth in the months ahead.
According to the survey of 136 executive recruiters, 71% are confident or very confident the executive employment market will improve during the next six months ñ down slightly from 75% in July but considerably higher than one year ago (57%). During the next six months, the executive search industry is expecting a 15.2% increase in the number of assignments received from corporate clients.
ìGrowing profits and solid economic growth have given businesses the confidence needed to expand their payrolls,î says Mark Anderson, President of ExecuNet. ìLooking ahead, itís too early to predict how the aftermath of hurricane Katrina will impact job growth across the country. However, Septemberís survey should provide valuable insight into any changes companies are making to their hiring plans.î
Recruitersí short-term outlook for the executive employment market also remained bullish in August ñ 71% are confident or very confident the market will advance during the coming three months, edging down slightly from 75% in July.
To prepare for additional job growth at the executive-level, 48% of all search firms have plans to hire additional professional staff during the next three months. During the past three months, 30% of search firms added professional staff.
