Recruiters Confidence On The Rise Amid Strong Job Growth

.

Despite slowing GDP growth, ExecuNetís Recruiters Confidence Index (RCI) increased for the second consecutive month in May, as nearly three in four search professionals believe the executive employment market will remain in the midst of a prolonged period of growth during the next six months.

Introduced in May 2003, the Recruiter Confidence Index is based on a monthly survey of thousands of executive recruiters conducted by ExecuNet (www.execunet.com), the leading executive career, business and recruiting network. Independent analysis of the RCI has confirmed it is a leading indicator for the executive search industry.

According to Mayís survey of 126 executive recruiters, 72% are confident or very confident the executive employment market will improve during the next six months - up from 68% one month ago.

ìGiven the rate at which the employment market has tightened during the past three years, it is safe to say the war for talent wonít be taking a vacation this summer,î says Mark Anderson, President of ExecuNet. ìIn fact, job seekers with well-maintained networks will likely find this summer to be one of the busiest in recent history.î

Recruitersí short-term outlook was also bullish in May, as 79% are confident or very confident the employment market will improve in the next three months - up sharply from 69% in April. During this period of time, the executive recruiting industry is expecting a 23% increase in the number of assignments received from clients.

To keep pace with rising executive demand, nearly half (46%) of all search firms are planning to add additional professional staff during the next three months, which is considerably higher than the percentage of firms that increased headcount in the previous three months (30%).
