Recruiters Confidence Remains Strong

As executive hiring continues to rebound, ExecuNetís Recruiters Confidence Index remains near its all time high as the summer months approach. In May, the monthly survey of executive recruiters conducted by ExecuNet, the executive job search and recruiting network, revealed the search industry is expecting a double-digit increase in new executive-level assignments during the next six months.

According to the survey of 102 executive recruiters, 72% are confident or very confident the executive employment market will improve during the next six months - down from a twenty-two month high of 78% in March. During the next six months, the executive search industry is expecting a 14.8% increase in the number of assignments received from corporate clients.

ìGiven the pace at which job creation has accelerated, recruiters are optimistic that the employment market will continue to heat up this summer,î says Mark Anderson, President of ExecuNet. ìIn light of this strong seasonal forecast, executives who are planning to make a job change in the near future should immediately begin looking for opportunities to strengthen their existing network.î

Recruitersí short-term outlook for the executive employment market was also strong in May, as 67% are confident or very confident the market will advance during the coming three months.

To prepare for sustained job growth at the executive-level, more than half (58%) of all search firms have plans to hire additional professional staff during the next three months. During the past three months, 34% of search firms added professional staff.
