CareerJunction hosted the 2nd annual Junction Awards on Wednesday evening at The Venue in Rivonia, Sandton, honouring best practices in the recruitment industry. What makes this honorary award so unique is that it is the only one of its kind in South Africa that truly reflects the career seekers choice for Recruiter of the Year. The Awards have grown and now recognise winners in small, medium and large agency categories as defined by CareerJunction. The winners as voted for by the career seekers are:

Quest Flexible Staffing Solutions: Winner - Recruiter of the Year (Large Agency)

ìIn the recruitment industry, there is no question that clients are important as they pay the fees. However the candidates represent the engine that runs our business ñ we cannot exist without them,î says Ann Vermaak, General Manager: Resourcing and Projects at Quest Flexible Staffing Solutions. ìLooking for a job is a stressful situation and we place a strong emphasis on coaching our candidates, often spending time upgrading skills such as computer literacy and typing. We thank the candidates that took the time to vote for us.î

The Award for first runner up in this category is DAV Professional Placement Group (winner of the 2004 Junction Awards Recruiter of the Year) and for second runner up is Emmanuels Staffing Services.

The Award for first runner up in this category is Callforce Direct and for second runner up is Sharon Nurock Recruitment.

Kris Jarzebowski, MD of online recruitment service CareerJunction, says that these awards promote true best practices in recruitment. ìCareer seekers vote online for the agency that has exhibited outstanding personal service and has a good understanding of their career requirements. The agency must offer relevant advice and guidance, represent the career seeker properly in negotiations and successfully secure interviews on their behalf. There must also be good follow up during the placement and post placement process.î says Jarzebowski.

According to the ACNielsens/Netratings, CareerJunction is ranked number one in the employment category of top sites in South Africa with 70% of all employment traffic going through the site each month. ìWe are an integral component within the recruitment industry, with a focus on end-user career seeker satisfaction and the delivery of world-class online recruitment tools and services to the recruiter.î says Jarzebowski. ìThis makes us well placed to promote standards of excellence within the South African recruitment industry.î
