REC welcomes Government pledge to simplify guidance

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation has welcomed the Governmentís announcement that it will be implementing proposals made in Sarah Andersonís Review on guidance for small businesses

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation has welcomed the Governmentís announcement that it will be implementing proposals made in Sarah Andersonís Review on guidance for small businesses.

Sarah was previously Chief Executive of the Mayday Recruitment Agency, a former member of the REC Board and its Employment Policy Committee, and Chair of FRES, the forerunner of the REC.

The proposals include a pilot one stop shop for advice on health and safety and employment legislation, removing disclaimers which bring the accuracy of guidance into question and encouraging inspectors to avoid prosecution of reasonable businesses.

Tom Hadley, the RECís Director of External Relations, said: ìWe welcome these efforts to help simplify guidance to our members. At the same time, the REC is continuing to develop its own business support services for members and current services such as the free legal helpline already play a key part in helping members to navigate the regulatory minefieldî
