REC audited takes the industry by storm

Seven agencies have already passed with 6 going through the process and a waiting list currently standing at 50

Seven agencies have already passed with 6 going through the process and a waiting list currently standing at 50.

Commenting on its success, Marcia Roberts, Deputy Chief Executive, REC says, We are delighted with the success of REC audited. It is something that the industry has wanted for a long time. The debate about licensing will continue but with the DTI unlikely to take forward this issue it became crucial to offer agencies a way to demonstrated their commitment to best practice.

Agencies that have passed the REC audit include:

Your Sincerely, Wales
Matchtech, Hampshire
Contract Personnel, Norwich
First Choice Recruitment, Bedford
Cavill Robinson Financial Recruitment, Peterborough
Encore Personnel, Leicester
Allen Associates, Oxford

The REC audit will compliment the DTIs inspectorate. But with 11 inspectors and 14,000 outlets, chances of being inspected are slight. The REC audit is made up of 125 auditable criteria to ensure compliance with EAA 1973 and Conduct Regulations of 2003, as well as REC Code of Good Recruitment practice. The audit examines a vast range of areas including: policy and certification requirements, work seeker registration, terms of engagement for temporary employees, payment to and from the worker.

Hundreds of job seekers and human resources professionals use recruitment services every day and they should have a guaranteed measure of quality. REC advises jobseekers and purchasers of recruitment solutions to look for the REC audited logo.
