PULSE acquires Project ASC

Specialist recruitment provider in drive to become UK market leader in social care

PULSE, a provider of staff to the UK health and social care market, announces the acquisition of London-based Project ASC Nursing and Care Services Ltd, a specialist recruitment business focused on the provision of social care staff.

Richard MacMillan, PULSE CEO says: ìThis acquisition grows the scale of our social care staffing business by 25%. PULSEís recent branch openings in Manchester, Leeds, Ilford and London have already increased the size of our social care operation by over 30%, enabling PULSE to deliver sustained organic growth alongside this acquisition. We look forward to working with the talented team at Project ASC to continue our growth in this important market.î

Project ASC is a specialist recruiter of workers to the social care sector in the UK. The company, based in London, was founded in 1984. Project ASC will move its operations function to PULSEís London office and the business will operate under the Project ASC brand until early 2007.

Social Care offers strong margins and attractive growth potential and the care sector of the market is estimated to be worth over 2 billion per annum. The acquisition fits with PULSEís strategy to increase scale within this specialist recruitment sector, supplying temporary, permanent workers and recruitment services to local authorities, housing trusts, charities and voluntary organisations.

John Halloran, Project ASC Chairman says: ìWe are delighted that Project ASC will be joining PULSE. Our partnership will bring tangible benefits to clients and candidates of both organisations. We will implement PULSEís unique technology enabling us to deliver industry-leading management information to clients and a new range of attractive rewards to retain our loyal candidates. Project ASCís expertise will drive the expansion of PULSEís client and candidate base.î
