Professor Felicia A.Huppert to Deliver Meyler Campbell Annual Lecture On Positive Ageing

.

Specialist research-based coaching consultancy, Meyler Campbellís Annual Lecture 2005 will be delivered by Professor Felicia A Huppert, a leading academic, Director of CIRCA (the Cambridge Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Ageing) and Chair of the European Network for Positive Psychology.

Life expectancy is steadily rising and this trend shows no sign of levelling out. In her talk entitled ìPositive Ageingî, Felicia reveals some staggering facts about the ageing process and, following exhaustive research, reveals that the evidence suggests we are not powerless in the struggle against ageingís seemingly inexorable progress.

Among many other fascinating observations, Feliciaís research illustrates the advantages of regular exercise as we age, how exercises to stimulate thinking can make a significant difference to our mental health and cognitive functions, and pours ëcold waterí on the generally held belief that the number of our precious brain cells goes into freefall as we age.
Felicia raises issues that are of major concern to individuals, employers, policy makers and governments around the world. Pensions and retirement policy, career development and our long term investment decisions are just some areas that could, and should, be radically revised against the results of Feliciaís research and the compelling arguments she puts forward in the Meyler Campbell Annual Lecture 2005.

Meyler Campbell is a specialist research-based coaching consultancy, providing learning and development for business coaches, and those interested in using coaching in their organisation. Meyler Campbellís primary focus is to raise the quality of knowledge about coaching by bringing together the practical and academic.
