Growing Membership numbers and the continued support of business partners saw the Recruitment and Consulting Services Association (RCSA) return to a strong financial position in 2006, posting a profit of $75,323, Members were told at the Associationís Annual General Meeting in Melbourne last week.
ìItís fantastic news to see the RCSA in such a strong position. We can now go forward into 2007 with the funding and support to effectively represent Members and provide them with the professional support and resources they need,î Julie Mills, CEO of the RCSA, said.
The results of the Board election were also announced at the AGM, with Stephen Shepherd MRCSA to continue as Association President. Helen Olivier MRCSA and Debra Loveridge MRCSA will act as Vice Presidents, while Deborah Wilson MRCSA will fill the role of Finance Director, with these four appointments to become Executive Directors.
Dennis Dadds MRCSA, OHandS Manager, Manpower and Simon Schauble MRCSA, General Manager Victoria, Skilled were recognised as new Board appointments, while Mary Martin MRCSA, Jodie McGrath and Robert Blanche MRCSA (Life) retired from the Board. Special recognition was made of Mr Blanche, who has held a Board role for ten years and made a significant contribution to the Association.
The CEOís report, delivered by Julie Mills, highlighted the successes of 2005-2006. This included a return to profitability, the first graduation from the RCSAís specialist industry course Certificate IV in Business (Employment Services) and the growth of the business partnership program, which provides funding and support for the Association.
Stephen Shepherdís Presidentís report focused on the amendments to the Constitution, which recognises the professionalism and standards expected by the peak body through more stringent entry standards and continuing professional development. He also noted the Associationís important policy work, with over 30 submissions to Governments in Australia and New Zealand produced during the year.
