The demand for workers in the UK rose last month to its highest rate in over a quarter, according to the latest research from PricewaterhouseCoopers. The PwC research also found that 28% of companies will increase their headcount in 2011, with some 15% claiming significant increases as the economy comes out of recession.
“The Recruitment and Employment Confederation and KPMG have also reported that the number of permanent roles, have dramatically increased in the last few months as a direct result of the improving jobs market,” stated Bradley Placks, Managing Director of award-winning, MyResourcer.com.
“What is also worth noting is research out this week from Orange which suggests that some 26% of small-to-medium sized businesses are also planning to hire more staff in 2011. Moving forward agencies need to have in place the very best people and systems to enable them to take full advantage of the increase in job vacancies,” continued Bradley.
“For some that will mean improving the way they already operate in certain markets, improving their new business operations, finding those jobs in the first place and ensuring that they can match existing candidates to jobs. For others, the decline in public sector job opportunities could potentially mean that they have to identify new markets in which to operate.
