PeopleSoft Founder Dave Duffield to be honored at IHRIM 25th Annual Conference

The Chairmanís Award is presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions

Dave Duffield, PeopleSoft founder and accomplished software industry executive and visionary, has been selected to receive the IHRIM 2005 Chairmanís Award. The Chairmanís Award is presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the general field of human resource information management. The award will be presented on Monday, May 2, opening day of IHRIMís 25th Annual Conference in Reno, Nevada.

Mr. Duffield founded PeopleSoft, Inc. in 1987 and went on to serve as the companyís CEO and board chairman where he offered significant technical and functional contributions to the development of business software. He was the driving force behind the companyís vision, product, market direction, and commitment to customer service. In addition, he inspired the companyís unique culture by promoting core values that focused on people, innovation, integrity and fun. PeopleSoft grew to be the second-largest application software company in the world before being acquired by Oracle early this year.

Prior to PeopleSoft, Mr. Duffield established two mainframe application software companies. He was CEO, chairman, and chief product architect at Integral Systems, the first company to offer DB2-based human resource and accounting systems. He also co-founded Information Associates (now a subsidiary of Systems and Computer Technology), which specialized in applications for the higher education market. He began his career at IBM as a marketing representative and systems engineer. He holds a bachelorís degree in Electrical Engineering and a masterís in Business Administration from Cornell University.
