Twenty years ago Randy Holloran graduated Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua, NH. He says that although he was excited to parade in his cap and gown, he could never have imagined how the future would unfold.

He credits the schoolís curriculum for giving him the foundation and confidence to complete his business degree at Providence College, Rhode Island. And, according to Holloran, his education coupled with a love of adventure has fueled his unwavering entrepreneurial spirit.

Like many entrepreneurs, Holloran says his head is constantly swirling with new business ideas. ìButÖî he adds, ìAs quickly as they come, they often go.î He explains, ìThereís a practical side that kicks in and runs the litmus test. This time, I really think we hit the jackpot.î

Today, he calls Florida home but spans the globe 24/7 with his new company NurseTogether.com. With nearly two decades of experience in the staffing industry, Holloran discovered that as the high tech market became saturated there was a great opportunity to serve the unmet needs of the nursing community.

NurseTogether.com is positioned as the premier information website for the global nursing community. According to Holloran, he wanted to go beyond the cookie cutter job site and offer a content rich resource for nurses, students of nursing and anyone considering the field.

Holloran assembled a management team that combines the expertise of publishing experts with technology specialists and those closely involved with the nursing profession to deliver a user friendly selection of tools and information. He emphasizes that unlike most localized sites, NurseTogether.com is designed from the ground up to serve the worldwide community of nurses.

With the site recently launched in spring 2008, it already boasts members from 60 countries. The majority of the site is open to all visitors, however, with simple and free registration, ìMembersî can access all content, forums, news and job postings.

ìOur site is opening doors for the nursing community anywhere, anytime. The response has been very positive, and as we see our membership grow daily, we are reassured this is a valuable service to our clients,î continued Holloran.

The site also features a number of best selling authors, a NBC news feed and a new partnership with Sheri Vail in which her award-winning ìNursing Volunteers in Developing Nationsî will be an integral part of NurseTogether.com.

Steve Curtin, VP of Content Development says he has seen almost instant credibility in the industry. He adds, ìWe are extremely pleased by the response from hospitals, subject matter experts and vendors who are interested in reaching our members. We are connecting a talented pool of nurses with quality employers, service providers and perhaps most importantlyÖ.each other.î

Holloran expands on the mission: Beyond content and careers, NurseTogether.com helps nurses network and communicateÖabout life, jobs, industry trends as well as share personal and professional perspectives. We offer discounts through unique partnerships with industry-leading organizations on top-quality nursing uniforms and supplies. We also provide premier online education offerings, with discounts, through the Kaplan University Nursing Program.

Recently Holloran called on the expertise of Rick Parks, now CEO of NurseTogether.com, to help the momentum continue. Parks has a mile long resume of successes, particularly in the technology/sales automation field. Highlights include starting Intec Systems Corporation, later integrated into ACT! Software and SalesWare which was acquired by GoldMine in 2000. Parks is a well known mentor to technology entrepreneurs and often speaks on sales force automation and process.

As for the ìdot.com bubbleî Holloran refuses to agree with those who say itís over. He explains, ìThere is plenty of opportunity online, you just have to work a little harder to find itÖwith a unique and quality offeringÖpeople will come. We see it everyday.î

Ask NurseTogether.com member Melissa Welch and she says that the site is exactly what she has been searching for. Welch provided this feedback, ìI have often looked for ways to communicate with other nurses in other fields and I am always looking for interesting updatesÖanswers to some unanswered questions, education, real nursing stories, etc. Keep up the good work and thank you for reaching out.î

With NurseTogether.com establishing a groundbreaking presence online, Holloran says he never thought while sitting at his desk at BG he would one day help a nurse in Ireland migrate to a career in New Zealand. According to Holloran, the company plans to expand and a round of investment is underway. The company can be contacted at 407-982-2580 or email info@nursetogether.com
