Online Testing is ëHonest and Ethicalí

Results of a recent independent survey commissioned by Qwiz, providers of online testing software, showed that 86% of candidates questioned ëfelt the online selection process was conducted in a fair and ethical mannerí.
When asked whether they preferred ëtaking skills tests over the Internet to taking them on paperí, 70% of candidates confirmed that they preferred tests over the Internet. A further 22% recorded a ëneutralí response, with only 8% actually preferring paper tests.

The majority of applicants felt that they were being treated in an honest and professional manner and that the test and the website instructions were easy to understand.

Mark Everitt, UK Sales Manager at Qwiz, commented ëThere are several reasons why this type of research is important. Employers and agencies need to continue to attract desirable applicants all the way through the recruitment and selection process. Previous studies have shown that applicantsí perceptions of the selection process may affect their attitude towards the hiring company. Their feelings about the way selection is handled may influence their decision to remain in a multi-stage selection process. It is the perception of the fairness of the process that is key in maintaining applicantsí interest in continuing towards accepting a position with the employer.

ëAt Qwiz we have tried to ensure that applicants have as positive an experience as possible during the time they are applying for a particular position and we are pleased that this survey confirms our tests have contributed to this experience.í
