A new report from Monster has shown that the number of businesses using online recruitment is rising.
In the 12 months to May 2011, there was an overall European rise of 21 per cent
in the use of online advertising in the recruitment process.
Germany was the leader in terms of online recruitment, according to the report
entitled the 'Monster European Employment Index'. The country had its sixth
consecutive month of growth in May.
The industries showing the largest growth were transport, logistics and post;
which saw annual growth of 53 per cent; and Telecoms, which saw healthy growth
of 43 per cent.
Monster Europe’s Vice President of Sales Readiness and Business Operations,
Alan Townsend, commented, “The Monster European Employment Index has remained
positive since May 2010, currently maintaining a healthy 21 per cent growth
over last year. It is encouraging to see industrial production is still
continuing to drive online recruitment.
He also added that he will be interested to continue to monitor the impact of
government cuts on public sector activity, in terms of online recruitment, as
this saw a small decline of one per cent in May.
