Eteach, announced this week a record number of registered members ñ 300,000 ñ plus a package of enhancements to its site designed to make advertising even easier for schools. This coincides with the release of the Recruitment Confidence Index (RCI) produced by Cranfield School of Management which shows the most important factor in the decision to advertise on commercial jobs boards was having access to a larger candidate pool, ( 77% of respondents said this was important or very important).*
Paul Howells, CEO of Eteach explains, ëWe are delighted to hear these findings as eteach.com probably has the largest teacher candidate pool in the UK, possibly the world. But having a massive reach is one thing, usability is an equally important part of the success of an online jobsite. We have continually upgraded our systems to ensure ease of access and cost-efficiency for advertisers. Our latest enhancements allow schools to post vacancies directly online in minutes and can be automatically emailed to suitable candidates immediately. Around 80% of the 300,000 registered members of eteach.com are based in the UK.í
Jane Evans, of St Cyres Secondary School, Vale of Glamorgan, is responsible for placing teacher vacancy adverts comments,
’We have been using Eteach for over three years. Recent changes to the Eteach system mean that it is even quicker and easier to post vacancy details direct to the site. By accessing it from the PC on my desk, I can post a vacancy in a matter of minutes so it is live for candidates to see within an hour or so of my receiving details from the head teacher.
’Using the service saves our school time and money; it costs 600 per year for unlimited vacancies on Eteach, compared with 400 for a single advert in the press. We can upload all details of the vacancy plus application forms, thus saving on postage and printing.’
The Eteach service now offers:
Direct access to post unlimited vacancies each year, via a simple template form
Vacancies appear on the schoolís or LEAís own websites, in a regional vacancy bulletin and on Eteach partnersí sites including those of NUT, ATL, CES, ISC and ASCL
School details automatically populate each vacancy
Online application packs ñ to save printing, postage and time.
Howells continues, ëThese enhancements are now in place ready for this academic year and have already been well-received especially, by administration staff responsible for uploading vacancy details to the system.í
Eteachís major site enhancements/overhaul follow/s its announcement earlier this year of a fixed price advertising initiative with the Association of School and College Leaders. This will enable all secondary schools to advertise as many vacancies as they like for one small fee.
