North / South salary gap narrows

PSK has shown that the salary gap for qualified finance executives is closing

Research undertaken by the Finance practice of senior level recruitment company PSK, has shown that the salary gap for qualified finance executives is closing.

5 years ago the average Financial Controller could expect to earn up to 25% less than their southern counterparts. This has now reduced to an average 10%.

Sue Wallis, Finance Practice Manager at PSK, states:

ìIt is encouraging that the salary gap is narrowing between the north and the south. In the same way as equal pay should exist between the sexes, so should it across the different locations of the UK. The results of the survey show that the cost of labour is becoming more based on peopleís skills as opposed to where they live.î

PSK Finance covers both permanent and interim finance and accountancy positions at a senior level.
