Graduates Yorkshire and NHS Yorkshire and the Humber have agreed to launch a new online job search facility for graduates looking to work in the health sector.
NHS Yorkshire and the Humber employs more than 140,000 people across 37 organisations and the new microsite will offer graduates the ability to find jobs relevant to them.
The new microsite hosted on GraduatesYorkshire.co.uk, a dedicated website matching employers in Yorkshire and the Humber with the best graduate talent, offers graduates a chance to explore the benefits of working in the NHS through case studies, an online guide and a search facility.
The jobs are not just targeted at graduates with medical degrees. The site will also offer vacancies across Finance, HR, Communications, Construction and Purchasing Management.
Martin Edmonson, Chief Executive of Graduates Yorkshire, said: ìThe NHS is the largest employer in Yorkshire and the Humber and we have a strong presence in the graduate community that the NHS is trying to reach.
ìGraduates Yorkshire doesnít just target recent graduates and the new site will also appeal to graduates already in employment who are looking to further progress their careers in an organisation like the NHS.î
Tim Gilpin, Director of Workforce and Education at NHS Yorkshire and the Humber, commented: ìWe recruited around 8,000 graduates last year and we are always looking at new and improved ways of finding the best people to work for the NHS.
ìGraduates Yorkshire gives us access to a pool of talent and provides the NHS with a platform on which we can promote the health service as an employer that makes a genuine contribution to societyís health and well being.î
The Graduates Economies in Britain report by Geoeconomics, commissioned by Graduates Yorkshire, found the tendency for graduates employed in the public sector to find employment in their home town was stronger than most other areas.
Graduates Yorkshire works with over 5,000 organisations and 18,000 registered graduates to help match suitable vacancies. An independent study found that Graduates Yorkshire had a 70% job fill rate.
