New ICS Security Professionals Network and Security Certification

New ICS Security Professionals Network and Security Certification for End-Users and Professionals

The Irish Computer Society is pleased to announce the imminent launch of a new special interest group, the ICS Security Professionals Network. This new network for IT professionals with responsibility for security issues is supported by Espion Research, and the Ernst and Young Technology and Security Risk Services Group.

The purpose of the Network is to advance the knowledge, skills and recognition of IT security professionals by providing access to networking opportunities, continuous professional development and professional certification. The new networkís inaugural event will take place on Thursday, 30th November in Dublin. Further details will be announced shortly.

In a related move, ICS SKILLS and Espion Research have entered a partnership agreement to jointly promote their respective End-User and Professional-level security certifications. The ICS SKILLS NetAssure programme for End-User IT Security Awareness was developed to help combat the persistent IT security problems that stem from poor user education. NetAssure is a stand-alone, to-the-point training course that focuses on the key aspects of PC security and safe computing. Successful candidates are certified by ICS SKILLS, the national accreditation body for ECDL in Ireland. For more information, visit:
