gradcracker.co.uk, the newly launched site which, uniquely, caters purely for the recruitment of Engineering graduates, is now nearly two months old and proving a bit hit with recruiters and students alike.
Since its launch on 1st October 2007, gradcracker has had over 12,000 visitors and there have been 8,000 ëclick-throughsí from gradcracker to employersí sites.
Nearly 80 employers have microsites on gradcracker - recently enrolled companies include Shell, Aker Kvaerner, Bentley Motors, Indesit Company and Lafarge - and a high number of applications have been received. Additionally, hundreds of students have uploaded their CV for recruiters to search through and shortlist.
Focusing on universities with a strong engineering bias, gradcrackerís University Liaison team has been in regular contact with Engineering faculty heads and senior lecturers. Vast numbers of gradcracker t-shirts have been distributed to students and our university contacts report seeing these being frequently sported on campus!
The number of Engineering students using the site is snowballing - nearly 1,000 are now registered users. UK registrations are widespread - the universities with the highest number of registered students currently being Birmingham, Loughborough, Strathclyde, Leeds, Glasgow and Liverpool. World-wide registrations include students from India, Nigeria, The Philippines, Czech Republic and Canada.
Student feedback is very encouraging - the recently-added forum and work placement search section proving particularly popular.
