New discounts scheme helps staff save on their staycations

Thousands of workers across the UK are to get huge discounts on thousands of hotels, B&Bs, cottages and guesthouses as part of a new Employee Benefits scheme launched by one of the UK’s leading accommodation specialists.
 
iknow-UK has worked with its suppliers to put together more than 7,000 exclusive discounts  of between five and 35 per cent – all of which are available all year round – on a huge range accommodation across the UK.
 
Companies looking for fresh new ways to reward and incentivise staff can now sign up, free of charge, to pass the deals on to their workers either through their own intranet sites or through specially created secure websites.
 
iknow-UK managing director, Julian Ross, said: “With the economy as it is, employers of all shapes and sizes are looking for cost effective ways to reward and retain staff with access to extra deals and discounts they can’t get elsewhere.
 
“Meanwhile, employees are looking for great places to stay which are closer to home so that they can make the best of all the fantastic places there are to stay and see here in the UK.
 
“By searching all the main booking providers, then ensuring that our rates are at least five percent lower than anything else found online, we have done the research to make sure our service is the only search employees need to make.
 
“And by making that service available to their staff completely free of charge, our new Employee Benefits Service also delivers exactly what employers want as well.”
 
The service can also be used by travel bookers to cut overnight accommodation costs, as well as widening the choice of stays available all forms of accommodation, including a huge variety of boutique hotels, B&Bs, guesthouses, cottages and apartments not commonly available via the usual bed banks.
 
Most of the discounts are available at any point during the year – not just during off-peak periods – and are guaranteed to be the best price available anywhere.
Mr Ross added: “Providing that staff have got some kind of access to the internet – whether at work or at home – we can pass our discounts on to them.

“Whether they are looking for corporate travel, a full family holiday or a romantic getaway, anywhere in the UK, we have the accommodation and discounts staff are after.

“We have already got more than 7,000 discounts set up and our aim is to have more than 20,000 by the end of the year.”

All employers need to do is get in touch so that iknow-UK can either give them a widget to put on their existing intranet site, or set up a secure website that their staff can access away from their desks, Mr Ross added.

When staff find somewhere they like, they can book direct through the website – without having to remember to enter any discount codes or passwords – safe in the knowledge that the same hotel can’t be found cheaper anywhere else.
