New Date and Deadline for Best Employers in Hospitality Awards 2011 Scotland

Scottish businesses are preparing for the second annual Best Employers in Hospitality Awards 2011 Scotland, organised by hospitality recruitment specialist, Caterer.com

The date for the Best Employers in Hospitality Awards 2011 Scotland has been moved to 25th October 2011. The new deadline for completed entries is now extended to 16th September 2011, giving employers more time to enter and complete the employee engagement surveys by which their entries are ranked.

As at last years’ event, the awards ceremony and celebration dinner will be held at Prestonfield in Edinburgh and will be hosted by popular comedian and presenter Fred MacAulay.

Director of Caterer.com Ian Burke stated “There has been a further peak of interest from employers in the last few weeks, and I am very pleased that we have been in a position to move the event date and extend the deadline rather than close the doors to employers who want to get involved.”

The awards reward and recognise the cream of hospitality employers judged by the people who know them best - their employees - via an employee engagement tool provided by award partners learnpurple.

Sponsors of the Best Employers in Hospitality Awards 2011 Scotland include ScotHot, Ellis Mack and BII.

Director of Ellis Mack Recruitment, Simon Wright commented on their involvement: “Ellis Mack Recruitment feels that the most successful employers are the ones that value the contribution and feedback of their team on a day to day basis. We are proud to continue our involvement in supporting an award such as the Best Employers in Hospitality – where the nominees are voted for by their employees based on the team’s opinions about how good their company actually is to work for. “

He continued: “We love clients that care about providing an environment where the talent in our industry can flourish – helping to dispel the myth that the Hospitality sector still operates Dickensian working practices. These awards recognise the most innovative and forward thinking companies of all sizes that continue to lead the way in employee engagement, people development, attraction and retention – something that we can all strive to continually improve upon.”

Last year’s winners included Marriott, Hudsons Catering, ASK, The Orchid Group and The Horseshoe Inn.

The awards are free and simple to enter. Scottish businesses can enter by visiting www.bestemployersinhospitality.com/scotland, and completing the short entry form online after which they will receive an email with a link to an employee engagement tool from partners learnpurple. Entrants need to forward this link to their employees and ask them to complete their feedback by Friday 16th September 2011. The system will rank employers, based on their employee responses. Shortlists and winners will be allocated on the basis of employee responses and not by a panel of judges, making these awards truly representative. All entrants will receive a free copy of their employee engagement results after the awards event.
