Monster to provide NY data on online hiring

Monster Worldwide says it will start offering local market data about online recruitment trends

Manhattan-based Monster Worldwide, parent of jobs site Monster.com, says it will start offering local market data about online recruitment trends.

Starting in August, the company will report on online recruitment activity and job availability in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and 25 other top U.S. markets. The data are based on Monster’s review of millions of jobs posted to more than 1,500 Web sites, including its own.

The company has previously provided only national and regional employment information. Its March 2005 employment index for the U.S. was the highest since the company started compiling data in April 2004, reflecting a very sharp increase in online job availability compared with March 2004. Fifteen of the 20 industries tracked by the index showed increases in online job demand.
