Michael Page International, and its accountancy arm Accountancy Additions, have joined forces to participate in the 2006 ING New York City Marathon in a bid to raise over 120,000 for leading UK breast cancer charity Breast Cancer Care.

The 45-strong team of clients and staff will join more than 85,000 runners for the 26 mile road race as part of a wider campaign to raise money for the charity in 2006. The marathon will take place on 5 November and Michael Page participants are each expected to raise at least 2,500 in sponsorship. Michael Page will kick start each individual effort with a 300 donation and will provide another 200 if the individual reaches their fundraising target.

In addition Michael Page will be organising a range of other activities aimed at raising funds including The Great North Run, Breast Cancer Careís Peru trek as well as a ëDay in the Pinkí.

Michael Page CEO Steve Ingham said:

ìMany people at Michael Page have had their lives touched by breast cancer, so itís no surprise that such a large team of staff and clients are willing to raise money for Breast Cancer Care, the UKís leading provider of breast cancer information and support. However, to complete the New York marathon requires a level of dedication on a completely different level and I am personally delighted that so many of my colleagues and clients are willing to go through the sweat and tears to raise money for this cause. Michael Page is behind them every step of the wayî.
