Jobsite recently held a World Cup 2010 Charity 5-a-side football match in aid of Charity. The day was very well organised and raised £1,300 for Wildlife Aid.
16 recruitment agency teams got the opportunity to play at Portsmouths Football stadium Fratton Park in Jobsite’s World Cup 5-a-side tournament.
Matchtech was picked out of the hat as Cameroon, sharing a group with Nigeria, USA and Greece. Matchtech started well, winning all 3 of their group games, including a 4-0 win against USA (A Pompey Legends side including house-hold names such as Mark Chamberlain and Paul Hardyman)
Finishing top of their group Matchtech then went on to play STR (Ivory Coast) winning 3-0. In the semis they played Jobsite (Portugal) and beat them 2-0 and then in the final they met ARM (France) and beat them 3-1. Linvoy Primus presented Matchtech with their well deserved Trophy.
Matchtech received a signed Pompey shirt as a memento of their day and will be auctioning it at work as part of a Interdepartmental World Cup Tournament to raise money for their charity Friends of PICU (The Paediatric intensive care unit at Southampton General Hospital).
Gary Green, Sales Manager of Jobsite.co.uk comments, “The Jobsite World Cup was a great success raising £1,300 for Wildlife Aid, and it was great to meet so many of Jobsite’s clients in such an informal atmosphere. Well done to the Matchtech boys on their win, we hope to see the team back next year to defend their title. The Jobsite boys are already in training, ready for a rematch.”
