Majority of Swedes, now online

70 percent of Swedes now have access to the Internet

This is according to a survey from Statistics Sweden, which reveals that 79 percent of men use the Internet, compared to 73 percent of women.

The report also reveals that at least 80 percent of Swedes, aged between 16 and 64, have access to a PC at home. Of these, 39 percent of men use computers at home on a daily basis, compared to 24 percent of women.

Younger people tend to be the biggest Internet users in Sweden with 95 percent of users. Swedes aged between 55 and 64 tend to be the lowest with 56 percent.

The survey also indicates that over half of the Swedish population would be interested in voting on the Internet in a general election.
