M16 Recruit on the Internet

MI6, the UK intelligence service have just launched a Web site to assist them in recruiting more spies, linguists and administrative staff.

The Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) site can be accessed online at www.mi6.gov.uk and www.sis.go.uk.

ëI applaud SIS, and its current chief, John Scarlett, for taking this bold step,í Foreign Secretary Jack Straw said in a statement on the Foreign Office Web site. `I hope that this display of openness will help the public learn more about SIS and increase the appreciation of why SISís vital secrets must be preserved.í

Reasons behind the launch are to further the public knowledge of the SIS and to aid in the services current recruitment drive.
