Louise Holland voted motivator of the year 2005

Louise Holland has been voted the Motivator of the Year

Louise Holland, the Director of National Events at Cancer Research UK, has been voted the Motivator of the Year, the premier individual award in motivation, sponsored by the promotional marketing and motivation exhibition, The National Incentive Show.

The Motivator of the Year award recognises an individual who is an outstanding achiever in a business, sport, entertainment or charity capacity. Holland has been an inspiration to others, having led and taken forward the Race for Life event since it started in 1984.

Other nominees included Linda Bennett, Bob Geldof, Helena Kennedy QC, comedian Francesca Martinez, Olympic gold medallist Matthew Pincent and Paralympic gold medallist Tanni Grey Thompson. Previous winners of the Motivator of the Year award include Sly Bailey and Sir Clive Woodward OBE.

The result was announced and the award presented during the Motivation Awards dinner at a top London Hotel on the 17th March. In addition to the award, Holland received a 500 cheque for her charity of choice - Cancer Research UK.

I am very proud and thrilled. It is lovely to be recognised personally due to all my hard work, and wonderful for Race for Life and Cancer Research UK to be acknowledged in the industry, says Holland.

Holland established Cancer Research UK’s national events department which has grown from a staff of six in 1996 to nearly 80. Her team annually raises over 38m from events such as the London Marathon, the Great North Run and 10K run series.

I’m delighted to have been given the opportunity to present this prestigious award to Louise Holland as she has shown all the qualities necessary in a motivational leader, says Darren Whitehead, Exhibition Director of The National Incentive Show.

2005 is set to be the best year yet for the highly successful National Incentive Show, the UK’s only exhibition in the marketplace focusing on incentives and business gifts. Now in its 10th year, The National Incentive Show is launching several new initiatives and a comprehensive seminar programme and will be co-located with the National Direct Marketing Show and the National Venue Show, ensuring that the event continues to be the most valued date in the diary for suppliers and buyers. The National Incentive Show is the perfect forum to seek out new products and development, keep abreast of the very latest and forthcoming trends, find practical inspiration and source buyers and suppliers.
