Just the job... IFW introduces new careers service

IFW ñ the worldís leading news and information service for the global cargo and freighting industry ñ is introducing a new dedicated jobs and recruitment service for freight and logistics professionals

IFW – the world’s leading news and information service for the global cargo and freighting industry – is introducing a new dedicated jobs and recruitment service for freight and logistics professionals.

IFW Jobs features the latest vacancies across the industry and ensures they are seen by candidates with the right skills and experience. Recently posted jobs include roles ranging from sales executives, senior traffic planners and personal assistants to freight forwarding operators, key account managers and global directors.

“Our new industry-specific jobs section is a direct result of listening to requests from our community of readers,” says Kizzi Nkwocha, Editor of IFW. “Our global reach means that IFW Jobs provides a truly international resource for a worldwide market.”

That market is vast. In the UK alone, the logistics industry is worth £14.5 billion and employs around 2.3 million people in more than 195,000 companies.
“With the global economy finally shaking-off the numbing effects of the recession, there’s a real need to bring together employers and job-seekers, so that vacancies can be filled as quickly and efficiently as possible,” continues Nkwocha.

“For the logistics sector as a whole, there is a forecasted increase of 48,000 workers in England to 2017. In addition, a total of 700,000 jobs will need to be filled as a result of people leaving the sector.

“This means that the sector will need to fill 748,000 jobs by 2017. Worldwide, this figure can be multiplied by a factor of 100,” says Nkwocha.
