JobThread launches redesigned site

JobThread is a lightweight, hosted application that offers recruiters and small to mid-sized businesses a simple, elegant and intuitive way to reach high quality candidates.

Here are a couple of sample sites to see JobThread in action:

http://headhunter.jobthread.com/
http://mtrgroup.jobthread.com/

The new site gives recruiters and small businesses an easy, free way to have their own jobs mini-site.

Top 5 reasons JobThread makes life easier for recruiters:

1) Mini-site. Each recruiter or business gets their own site and URL (eg, if the company’s name is Galileo, their site can be galileo.jobthread.com)

2) Syndication. Recruiters can choose to make their jobs public or private. For the jobs that are visible to the public, their JobThread site automatically creates an RSS feed that we’ll be sending to search engines like Indeed, SimplyHire, Google Base (we’re in the process of setting these up now, hopefully all will be running smoothly soon).

3) Subscribe via RSS or email Newsletter. A recruiter’s or company’s contacts can subscribe to a feed of jobs via RSS or email newsletter, making it even easier for recruiters to spread the word about their jobs.

4) Referrals and referral rewards. Recruiter’s have the option of adding a referral reward to jobs, if they desire. All referrals (whether there is a reward or not) are tracked. JobThread manages distribution of payments and helps to automate any tax filing.

5) Free. JobThread will be free for all until April 1, 2006. After that we’ll likely charge a low monthly fee for the unlimited posting product and offer a free product that limits recruiters to five job postings/month. We think that’s pretty fair. Also, anyone that signs up before April 1 will get six months free from day that we do start charging.

Our philosophy is to give recruiters and small businesses a few very valuable, lightweight tools to help make their online recruiting life easier. There are a lot of recruiter’s and small businesses out there that don’t have their own site with job listings because they don’t have or want to invest the time and/or resources to set up a site and either manually update HTML to list jobs or purchase/integrate an expensive job board solution.

Also, our lightweight tools provide enough flexibility so recruiters can choose whether they want to make jobs public for all to see or keep them private and send it only to an invitation only subscriber list. They can also decide if they want to offer a referral reward or not.

We feel that JobThread will help a lot of folks in the changing landscape for online recruitment as there are increasingly more ways to help jobseekers find job content (Indeed, SimplyHired, etc) there aren’t very many simple ways to actually get content posted. Google Base is definitely a step in that direction, but Google Base doesn’t really provide a way for recruiters and companies to have their own site and easily manage syndication to other search sites.

JobThread is focused on being lightweight, flexible and free (or almost free).
