Jobsiteís NHS Jobs website www.jobs.nhs.uk beats off 36 finalists to win the category

Jobsite is delighted that the success of the NHS Jobs website has been recognised with the award of a National Online Recruitment Award (NORA). The NHS website, which Jobsite helps to manage on behalf of the NHS, beat over 36 other finalists to the top spot in the category for ëbest employers websiteí.

Jobsiteís Managing Director, Keith Potts, said of the award: ìJobsite is delighted with this news and thrilled to be part of such a fundamental development in the NHSí recruitment practices. The use of innovative technology on the NHS Jobs website has helped to meet the NHSí growing need for access to skilled staff able to deliver against increasingly challenging targets. NHS Jobs has now become one of the largest public sector web sites in the UK and we are pleased that the NHS is truly benefiting from its popularity.î

The online recruitment service for the NHS was developed in co-operation with Methods Consulting, a successful business and IT consultancy. The site includes job vacancies and information about NHS jobs and employers. The service is expected to deliver around 24m in savings in advertising and administrative costs and at present is on target to deliver these benefits. The site is regularly used by over 7,400 users in over 550 NHS organisations and receives over 900,000 visits each month. This makes the website the fourth busiest recruitment site in the UK. The feedback from the users has also been overwhelmingly positive.

Over 10,000 nominations were received from candidates, with the awards being judged on the following criteria:

1. Ease of use, design, layout & speed.
2. Volume of available vacancies.
3. Volume of claimed visitors.
4. Available facilities for jobseekers.
5. Prominence in targeted market.

The director of AllJobs Ltd Stephen OíDonnell which hosted the competition scheme commented: ìI am delighted that this yearís National Online Recruitment Award for The Best Employerís Website (recruitment) has been won by jobs.nhs.uk, the jobsite serving the National Health Service throughout England. Having been a finalist in both 2004 and 2005, the site has been up against extremely tough competition. Serving as the recruitment site for one of the largest, if not the largest, employer in the UK, is an extremely difficult task. One which calls for a site which is crystal clear to users, and yet can cope with an immense number of vacancies across a very wide range of skills and locations. This site performs these tasks extremely well, and is perfectly pitched for its target market.î
