Jobsite announces the acquisition of two further online recruitment businesses

Jobsite today announced the acquisition of two niche online recruitment assets

Jobsite, owned by DMGT, today announced the acquisition of two niche online recruitment assets. DMGT has acquired Interbase Limited which operates ìproductionbase.co.ukî (ìProductionbaseî), the networking service for freelancers working in the UK screen, TV and film industries, as well as the acquisition of The Appointment Limited (ìTALî) which operates ìinretail.co.ukî and ìretailcareers.co.ukî and publishes the bi-weekly retail magazine ìThe Appointmentî.

Productionbase:
Following the acquisition, Productionbase will retain its brand name and continue to be led by its founder, Moray Coulter, a former television journalist and producersí trade association executive. The site enables producers and production companies to search quickly by job grades, skills and production credits, in addition to viewing CVs and showreels immediately online, allowing suitable and relevant talent to be sourced in minutes whether by direct search or posting job vacancies. The site will benefit from Jobsiteís technology platform and expertise, enabling Productionbase to enhance its two central components ñ its searchable database and job board.

Moray Coulter said: ìThe audio-visual industry is driven by a particular freelance culture, with its own ways of matching people and jobs. Productionbase draws on ten yearsí experience in this field, and today brings a database of over 30,000 production people and first-name contacts with most of the industryís major production companies and producers. Add our sector knowledge to Jobsiteís technical expertise and reach throughout the professional labour market and we will have a platform to expand into other sectors of the audio-visual industry.î

TAL:
TAL will also continue as a stand alone business, led by existing Managing Director Peter Burgess. The business is unique within its market combining best of breed online recruitment websites with a well established traditional print publication. The combination of ìinretail.co.ukî and ìretailcareers.co.ukî serves over 135,000 job seekers per month. The magazine reaches an audience of around 60,000 retail professionals each month, focused on the management, supervisory and professional level of the sector.

Peter Burgess said: ìAs a business we are committed to providing our clients with the best service and response in the market. I strongly believe that the combination of our portfolio of assets with the technological advancements that Jobsite will help us to implement will deliver an even stronger service to our clients. We will also continue to provide the best offline and online recruitment destination for professional job seekers in the retail sector.î

Speaking about both acquisitions Keith Potts, Managing Director of Jobsite commented: ìI am delighted we have been able to bring two exciting niche recruitment businesses into our expanding portfolio. We believe that both businesses will continue to thrive under their existing management, but with access to Jobsiteís technology platform and substantial online marketing experience. This continues our strategy of bolting on niche vertical sites that are complementary to our existing offering.î
