Employers advertising their job offers on Czech job boards Jobs.cz and Prace.cz received a record number of 178,266 responses in October. The statistics show an increase of 44% compared to October 2006. îWe can describe the amount of reactions by saying that every fifteen seconds an application is sent from our job sites,ì says Marek Jrů, a Product Development Manager from the LMC company which owns and operates both sites. Together these sites cover the majority of the Czech internet job market.
ìIn my opinion, such an impressive growth can be attributed to search agents, and the new functions on Jobs.cz ,ì continues Marek Jrů. Search agents deliver suitable job offers directly to the in-boxes of registered users, who are thus always well informed about all relevant work opportunities. ìReply Historyî is another new function which helps job seekers organize their job search; all applications are now gathered in one place. Job seekers, participants of a selection process, can also see if they have been eliminated from the process by HR managers. ìResearching the preferences of Jobs.cz users, we have found that it is difficult to stay organized when searching for a job, and people would be happy to be given tools which help to organize the process. This was our primary reason for implementing these new services,ì explains Jrů.
ìThe high number of responses is signaling great dynamics in the current job market,ì says Libor Mal, founder and director of LMC. In his opinion, the large demand for employees makes companies think more about recruitment activities, and this stimulates job seeker's interest. People, now more than ever before, are becoming more active when looking for a new job, and all this is happening despite falling unemployment rate. ìIt is also because new technologies make jobs seeking more comfortable and less tedious,ì says Libor Mal.
