Jobs.ac.uk announce Recruitment Strategy Workshop for UK Universities

jobs.ac.uk has announced details for a major new recruitment workshop aimed at higher education institutions to be held in Central London on Tuesday 3rd March 2009

jobs.ac.uk, one of the UKís leading online jobs board for careers in research, science and academic related professions, has announced details for a major new recruitment workshop aimed at higher education institutions to be held in Central London on Tuesday 3rd March 2009.

As university recruitment budgets are squeezed in the economic downturn, the practical one-day workshop, Recruitment Strategies in A Tough Climate, will focus on providing HR professionals from leading UK universities with effective recruitment strategies and techniques that will help minimise recruitment costs and provide insights into the latest innovations in online recruitment.

Alison Osborne, Marketing Manager of jobs.ac.uk says: ìWith the current economic climate, it is clear that all organisations need to plan budgets carefully and find more innovative, cost-effective ways to attract candidates.

This one-day workshop is packed with best-practice, tips and advice to ensure that institutions are using all the right methods to attract, retain and maintain top talent – at less cost. The event includes a fantastic line-up of speakers in what promises to be a fascinating educational day.î

The topics and confirmed speakers include:

Sue Kellaway, a Strategic Resourcing Adviser with an extensive background in higher education recruitment, who will explain how institutions can minimise recruitment costs and recruit the best talent in an increasingly tough economic climate.

Giles Guest, Director of Enhance Media, who will demonstrate how to work more efficiently and attract the best candidates by using the latest online recruitment technologies.

Peter Gold, Director of Hire Strategies, who will demonstrate how to use social media & web 2.0 to attract and hire top people.

The event will also provide an opportunity for delegates to network, exchange ideas and share experiences with HR professionals from other higher education institutions

The new workshop builds on the success of a series of recruitment events organised by jobs.ac.uk in 2008 which sold out within weeks of being announced and attracted senior HR professionals from the UKís top universities.

The event is being held at the RIBA in Central London on Tuesday 3rd March 2009.
