The last two weekends of hot, sunny weather, have seen a major shift in job seeker behaviour, reports Jobmate, the leading multi-posting service.
ìNormally, job applications are at their peak over the weekend as job seekers spend time at home looking for new opportunities,î said Darren Schwarz, managing director of Jobmate. ìHowever, as the weather has improved, we have seen a general decline in weekend applications from the 250 job boards that Jobmate interfaces with, much more than is normal for this time of year. Weekend responses are currently running at 30-50% of weekday levels.î
These figures show that online jobseeker activity is at its peak midweek. To get the best value from adverts, advertisers to job boards that return more recent adverts first in their search results need to concentrate on advertising earlier in the week for maximum exposure.
