Jeff Taylor, founder of Monster, the largest online recruitment company in the World, revealed his new venture, for the first time, at the onrec.com Online Recruitment Conference at Londonís Caf Royal on 17th June.
To an audience of over 130 recruiters, job-board owners, vendors and reporters Taylor vouchsafed that his next project will have nothing to do with recruitment. It will involve an online consumer site targeted at the 50 age-group. Taylor explained that he was keen to start a new project, ëleading a team again in an amazing work environmentí and hoped that ëlightning would strike twiceí producing another monster success.
2 million of venture capital has been arranged for the new project which should be ready for launch on 8th September 2005. Taylor will remain in an advisory capacity with Monster World Wide for the next 18 months.
Answering a question posed by David Hurst, publisher of Onrec, Taylor opined that ëthe greatest threat to Monster is Monsterí.
